How to SSH Into a Server From Your iPhone

Short answer: to SSH into a server from an iPhone or iPad, install an SSH terminal app and add your server. ShellPilot: SSH & Snippets is a full terminal with saved command snippets, SSH keys and an SFTP file browser.

Steps

  1. Install the app and add your server (host, user, password or key).
  2. Generate or import an Ed25519 or RSA key. Keys stay on your device.
  3. Connect. The terminal is xterm-compatible and works with tmux, vim and anything else you run over SSH.
  4. Save commands you repeat, such as restarts, log checks and deploy steps, as snippets and run them in a tap.
